Ladies have you noticed that you can get a reduced premium simply because you are female? At last, there is a benefit to being a woman. But affordable auto insurance only comes with a good driving record.

It seems men break more traffic rules and do more dangerous things than women on the roads. But, some of surprising risky behaviors are things that we all do; things that many of us take for granted and do not even recognize as potentially dangerous.

So what are they? Well, drinking a hot drink while driving is not recommended. It is not against the law, but if you think about it, a hot drink is a potentially dangerous distraction to a driver. The risk of spilling the hot drink is quite high

Now hot liquid in the lap or down the front of a brand new outfit is a distraction no matter what sex you are. And it only takes a second of inattention for you to go off the road or canon into some unsuspecting driver.

Eating chocolate is another risky behavior at the wheel of the car. The risk of weight gain or spots is nothing compared to the sudden loss of attention when you realize that chocolate is melting into your white shirt or is getting smeared into the seat covers.

So ladies, we don’t speed as often or as much as men. We don’t run red lights as often as men, but we do have our weaknesses and, surprisingly, some of these can be real risk factors when driving.

To keep that affordable insurance rate, leave the hot drink in the cup holder until you are in the car park and save the chocolate for a time when you can concentrate on enjoying it.
